It was a double dose of humanitarianism for Beachwater in March The National Conference on caring 2009 was held at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast. The conference held on March 9th and 10th, featured presentations from caring professionals from across Australia and over seas. The ABC's Richard Fidler was instrumental as MC for the event and did a superb job moderating the Q&A sessions including one sesson where there was a live phone link to the UK. From a personal point it was extremely humbling to meet so many people from so many walks of life who have given up so much of thier personal lives to care for others in need. These people are genuine savoirs in our community and deserve far more recognition and support than what they recieve at the moment. Meanwhile, the Lifeline National Conference was held at the Rydges Lakeside Hotel in Canberra. Beachwater were on hand to provide AV for the 3 day event which included an interesting presentation from CEO Lifeline Hobart, Christopher John. Christopher presented live via webcam from Tasmania but that's not all... he was actualy on his push bike participating in fund raising activities for Lifeline. The conference was a great success and beachwater would like to thank all the Lifeline staff and volunteers who provide an invaluable counselling service to people in need across Australia.
